Friday was our last day of Vacation Bible School. Here is the 1st and 2nd Grade class.
Here is the 5th through 8th Grade class.
This week we had a really good time with the recreation guys (and none of the kids got hurt permanently.)
We also did some really good crafts with the craft team.
Also, during VBS, some of the team did some more work around the church in the clothes closet and food pantry.
After Vacation Bible School was over on Friday afternoon we cleaned up the church, ate lunch and then left for site seeing in Washington, DC. Here is a picture of us in front of the capitol building.
Saxby Chambliss’ office led us on a tour of the capitol. Then we went
to Arlington Cemetery. At Arlington we saw Gen. Lee’s home, the changing
of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers, and the JFK gravesite. Then
we went to Bertucci’s Italian Restaurant for a very good dinner. Here
we are at Bertucci’s. We were so hungry and thirsty that ANYTHING would
have been good, an the Italian food really hit the spot.
After dinner Jim took us to the World War II memorial (which is really nice) and then to the Washington Memorial. Here is a picture of the WW2 memorial.
Then it was time to go back to the hotel and get ready to leave early Saturday morning.
