Rhonda Sapp , Upward Coach
“Just the mention of the name, ‘UPWARD’ excites me to no end!” says Rhonda Sapp, who has been an Upward coach for seven years! “I love the Upward ministry here at Second Baptist Church!”
Rhonda says, one of her favorite memories of Upward was when she had the honor and privilege to lead 3 of her little Bobcats to the Lord during that particular season. The other 7 Bobcats were already saved!
“I really enjoy Grandparents Day! I like to see grandparents plugged-into their grandchild’s activities. It makes my little Bobcats feel very special to have their grandparent come watch them as their name gets called out and they run out to center court!” During the Star ceremony, She asks each child to introduce their grandparents! “They love it. I always present a little ‘happy’ for each grandparent that attends. I do the same thing when we celebrate Teacher Day in Upward Basketball. It’s a great time for us all!”
- Rhonda has been an integral part of the success of Upward Basketball at SBC. She was awarded the 2002 Most Christ-Like Boys Coach Award.
